A thermostat reading the wrong temperature, drifting off its setpoint, or simply ignoring input can make a perfectly good furnace or AC look like it's failing. Before we touch anything, we verify whether the thermostat itself is the culprit or if it's a wiring issue or equipment fault being misdiagnosed as a thermostat problem, since swapping the unit won't fix a fault that lives elsewhere.
Wiring compatibility is a bigger deal than most people expect during an install. Older setups sometimes run fewer wires than a modern smart thermostat needs, and heat pump systems in particular use wiring layouts that don't match a standard furnace-and-AC configuration. We check compatibility up front and run a common wire when it's missing, rather than forcing a workaround that leaves features disabled.
After installation, we configure the thermostat around your actual equipment, staging settings for multi-stage furnaces, auxiliary heat lockout for heat pumps, and any smart scheduling you want running. We also walk you through the app or panel in person so you leave knowing how to use it, not just that it's mounted on the wall.
